1st of December last year, over 20,000 audiences became the witnesses of the Hong Kong Philharmonic's Symphony under the Stars – Hong Kong's largest outdoor symphonic concert. This year, HKPO will move to the Happy Valley Racecourse to bring to you another relaxing and magical evening of fine music under the stars, under the baton of Conductor Laureate David Atherton.
The music in the programme includes gems from Baroque to modern period. As early as Handel's Royal Fireworks Music from almost 300 years ago, excerpts from Tchaikovsky's beloved Nutcracker, to Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man.
Chinese pianist Zuo Zhang will share the stage with the HKPO in Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, the wonderful classic made timeless by the movie Somewhere in time.

Concert Tips:
| 1. | To enjoy this magical evening under the stars, you are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic basket. You will be seated on the grass pitch during the concert. Nevertheless, to ensure a safe and comfortable experience, please do not bring any glass containers or any other potentially hazardous items into the venue. |
| 2. | To avoid obstructing the view of others, please do not bring any chair or seats into the concert. |
| 3. | Parking spaces are not available at the concert venue. You are recommended to use public transportation instead. On the evening of the event, please follow instructions from the Police or our staff for proceeding to the concert venue safety and efficiently. |
| 4. | Once inside the venue, please follow instructions from our staff for seating arrangements. |
