Mabel Lee
BOARD OF GOVERNORS
Mrs Mabel Lee
Soon after graduating from The University of Hong Kong, Mabel qualified as a solicitor and joined one of the leading law firms in Hong Kong. In the 80’s she emigrated to Vancouver, Canada, where she studied and qualified as a Canadian solicitor and barrister. On her return to Hong Kong, she resumed her practice as a property and commercial lawyer and continued until her retirement in 1999. She was also a member of the partnership board of her firm and served as a member of the Property Committee of the Hong Kong Law Society. In order to share her experience with future members of the profession, she started teaching at the HKU Faculty of Law and is at present a part-time tutor for the PCLL course. She is also a Notary Public.
Since her retirement she has been actively engaged in voluntary work. She has served as a board member of the Hong Kong Liver Foundation and the HKU-Pasteur Research Centre. She also served on the HKU Convocation Standing Committee and HKU Court. She is currently managing an Elderly Fund and a Children’s Fund both under the Simon K.Y. Lee Foundation. As Chairman of the Hong Kong University Graduates Association Education Foundation, she helps with the running of two DSS schools, HKUGA College and HKUGA Primary School. She learns a lot and finds great satisfaction out of all this volunteering work.
