[3 January 2012 – Hong Kong] The Hong Kong Philharmonic Society announces today the appointments of two senior management staff: Ms Orla Gilroy as Director of Development and Mr Ambrose Yeung as Acting Director of Orchestral Operations. Ms Gilroy joins the Society on 3 January 2012, while Mr Yeung has assumed the new post since 20 October 2011.
“I am very pleased with these two additions to the Senior Management Team of the Orchestra. With her vast experience in fundraising and sponsorship, as well as her deep passion for symphonic music, Orla will contribute greatly to elevate the levels of private and community funding support for our Orchestra,” said Mr Michael MacLeod, Chief Executive. “Ambrose, a long-serving and highly capable member of the orchestral staff, will work alongside the rest of the Senior Management Team to ensure the stability and growth of the Orchestra which is essential for our future success.”
Having moved to Hong Kong from her native Ireland over 12 years ago, Ms Gilroy was previously Chief Executive Officer of Enlighten – Action for Epilepsy, a Hong Kong Charity which she helped found in 2001. Prior to that, she was the Fundraising, Special Events and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager for The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
Previously Orchestra Personnel Manager of the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Mr Yeung has been working for the Orchestra for over 13 years and is highly experienced in orchestral management, particularly in the areas of personnel and touring.
