With his quiet insights and care taken to make the music “superbly shaped” (The Times), Finnish conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste conducts Beethoven’s Eroica in his long-due HK Phil debut. Leading German concert organist Christian Schmitt joins the orchestra on Friday in a unique rendition of Bach’s famous D minor Toccata and Fugue, as well as Samuel Barber’s rarely heard Toccata Festiva.
The concert runs approximately 1 hour 30 minutes with an intermission.
