Inspiration can blossom anywhere. Anna Clyne Within Her Arms turned a memory of her mother into music of timeless beauty. Dvořák saw a train entering a station: the melody that popped into his head grew into one of the stormiest and most powerful symphonies of the 19th century which Jaap van Zweden loves. And Rachmaninov took a scrap of a tune by Paganini and spun it into pure gold. Dazzling, playful, and deliriously romantic, the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini is still a matchless showpiece for a truly great pianist – so it’s perfect for our soloist Avan Yu.
The concert runs approximately 1.5 hours with an intermission.
For standard tickets, the general public can enjoy up to 20% off, while Club Bravo members are entitled up to an exclusive 30% off for ticket purchases.
