Celebrated actress, screenwriter and director Sylvia Chang brings to life one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Chang will showcase her remarkable talents by portraying all 14 roles in this special adaptation by Taiwanese writer Chiao Yuan-pu. Resident Conductor Lio Kuokman will lead the HK Phil, sopranos Vivian Yau and Dani Zhang Jingdan, and the ladies of the HK Phil Chorus to accompany Chang’s performance with Mendelssohn’s enchanting incidental music for the play, from which the world-famous Wedding March is drawn.
Narrated in Mandarin with Chinese and English subtitles.
The concert runs approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with an intermission.
