[26 April 2023, Hong Kong] The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) is excited to collaborate with talented singer-songwriter and award-winning actress Ivana Wong, who will take the stage on 12 & 13 May 2023 for three performances in the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall. Taking up the role of composer and artist, Ivana will embark on her poetic musical journey with her new orchestral works.

Ivana Wong has been working on her Total Art project "The Missing Something" in recent years. Coming to the third chapter, the HK Phil x Ivana Wong "The Missing Something" Concert - "I'm not sure what to go with coffee: Iceland, that piano, or your portrait?" features the premiere of her new orchestral works performed live by the HK Phil. This concert brings together orchestral music, artwork projection, singing and poetry reading to create a captivating performance. Renowned composer and music director Alex Fung and Tsui Chin-hung are specially invited to be the orchestral arranger.

Born into a musical family where both of her parents are classical singers, Ivana Wong plays classical piano and is very strongly influenced by classical music. In addition to her singing profession, Ivana has made a number of theatre and silver screen appearances which earned her the accolades including “Best New Performer” and “Best Supporting Actress” at the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards in 2015 and “Best Supporting Actress” at the 41st Hong Kong Film Awards in 2023.

The concert will be conducted by Joshua Tan, Principal Conductor of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra and Director of the Asia Virtuosi. Tan is at home with symphonic, operatic and ballet works. He is also equally adept with music for ballet, film and multimedia.

HK Phil x Ivana Wong “The Missing Something” Concert will be held on 12 May (Fri) at 8PM and 13 May (Sat) at 3PM & 8PM in the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall. Tickets are sold out. For enquiries, please call +852 2721 2332 or visit hkphil.org.
