Chow Chi Chung joined the Hong Kong Philharmonic in September 2001 as Assistant Principal Horn. Chow has collaborated with many major artists such as Myung-whun Chung, Yo-Yo Ma, Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin, Sarah Chang, Han-na Chang and Helen Huang, and has appeared on television and radio frequently.

As soloist, he has performed with the KBS Symphony Orchestra (Korean Broadcasting System), Pusan Symphony Orchestra and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. He has also served as Principal Horn of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Macau Chamber Orchestra, and Asia Youth Orchestra. He was the youngest ever Principal Horn player with the KBS Symphony Orchestra. 

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Chow began to play the horn at the age of seven. At fourteen, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (APA), in its junior programme. In 1991, he won the Aiwa Foundation scholarship from the Asia Cultural Council to participate in the Aspen Music Festival.
