Content: With his Ring Cycle, Richard Wagner set out to create a new style of opera that would change the world. The third of the four operas, Siegfried, is a story about a young man who is destined to be a great hero. Using audio and video examples, Wagner expert Sue Elliott will give an entertaining and informative exploration of the opera’s creation, its themes and musical motives, and its context within the Ring Cycle as a whole. This guided journey through the third chapter of Wagner’s magnum opus is designed to help you make the most of your experience in the Concert Hall. | |
