The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong Composers Scheme is a platform for young composers to deepen their experience in orchestral writing. This year, six composers were selected to be mentored by an esteemed international composer Christian Mason, who helps bring out the full potential of their new works. The young composers then work with the orchestra in an open public session to make their new music performance-ready.

The Showcase is the culmination of their hard work. In addition to performing their completed pieces, the orchestra will further demonstrate the multifaceted possibilities of orchestral sound by performing Christian Mason’s Eternal Return, as well as celebrate local talent by presenting Steve Hơ's Kung Fu Rhapsody, featuring pianist Warren Lee, and Lo Hau-man's Saxophone Concerto, Aquilae, featuring saxophonist Jacky Leung. Don't miss this rare opportunity to get a sneak peek at the orchestral creative process and a first-listen to these brand-new works!

This programme is co-presented by the HK Phil and WestK.
