HK Phil Composers Workshop

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra completed Wagner’s Ring Cycle Part 4 – Götterdämmerung in January 2018 with brilliant success.
With a view to nurturing local talent, a composition workshop for emerging composers has been organised alongside the performances and events of Götterdämmerung. Six selected composers will have the opportunity to have their new orchestral works presented at a public workshop with the HK Phil on 13th March 2018. These new works, each of a three to four minutes duration, shall take the music of Wagner’s Ring Cycle as their starting point.

The Public Working Session and Showcase will take place on 13 March 2018 (Tue) at the Grand Hall, Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre, The University of Hong Kong.

The Event is in two sessions: First session includes the rehearsals of new pieces by first four composers. Second session will include the rehearsals of pieces by the remaining two composers, plus the performances for all the six new pieces.
