Programme

WAGNERParsifal: Prelude to Act I
WAGNERParsifal: Good Friday Music
SCHUMANNPiano Concerto
MENDELSSOHNSymphony no. 5, Reformation

The glorious music of German Romantic composers will surround you with unforgettable melodies and deeply felt emotions at this concert. Mendelssohn’s powerful“Reformation” Symphony culminates in Luther’s “A Mighty Fortress is Our God,” majestically proclaimed by the brass. You’ll love the poetry and intimacy of Schumann’s Piano Concerto, interpreted by dashing pianist David Fray (“musically refined and technically elegant” The New York Times). Crowning the concert…selections from Wagner’s Parsifal, the mystical opera about compassion, redemption, and the legend of the Holy Grail.
