RACHMANINOVSymphonic DancesListen
Orchestral showpieces from three continents. From Europe, Maurice Ravel treats us to his unique and sumptuous sound with a graceful and elegant score full of French magic. And from Asia, our very own Tan Dun traverses the continents as he follows the journeys of Marco Polo in his exciting and colourful orchestral concerto. Written in exile from the Americas, Rachmaninov’s sad swan-song to a tragic composing career is full of the kind of soaring melodies which have made his music so universally popular around the globe.
