As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, the HK Phil and Music Director Jaap van Zweden will embark on an eight-city European tour with the first French pianist to win the International Tchaikovsky Competition, Alexandre Kantorow. Hailed as the “young tsar of the piano” (Classica), Kantorow plays Beethoven’s Fourth Concerto in this pre-tour concert. Jaap conducts the First Symphony of Mahler and the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by Hong Kong composer Daniel Lo.
The concert runs approximately 2 hours, with an intermission.
