Experience the power of music as it tells the stories and sparks the imagination. The concert opens with the story of the Chinese Romeo and Juliet in the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto, featuring wonderkid violinist Paloma So. This is followed by Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rocco Theme, which showcases the composer’s mastery in crafting graceful and elegant melodies, with the stellar cellist Jian Wang as the soloist. Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade is best known for its colourful orchestration, exotic melodies and vivid portray of Arabian tales from One Thousand and One Nights.
