Concert Cancellation and Ticket Arrangement: “Swire Denim Series: Philip Glass' David Bowie II” on 8 & 9 May 2020

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Music Director Jaap van Zweden, our Board of Governors as well as the administration put the health and well-being of our audience, players and staff at the forefront of our priorities. Like most cultural organisations, we have made major adjustments to our regular activities in order to accommodate these exceptional circumstances.

In view of the latest situation of COVID-19, the advertised performances of “Swire Denim Series: Philip Glass' David Bowie II" at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall on 8 & 9 May 2020, 8pm, have been cancelled.  Ticket holders (except for patrons who purchased tickets from Klook, POPTICKET and ticketflap#) to the cancelled concerts, please submit your preferred ticket arrangement on or before 30 June 2020

Since over 20 performances have recently been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant number of tickets are undergoing the refund procedure. While we appreciate your understanding and patience during the refund process, we are doing our best to explore new refund methods to speed up the process. Below are the options available for ticket holders of the cancelled concerts in April & May:

English rock legends are remembered in this concert of American tributes. Marking the 40th anniversary of John Lennon’s death, we hear Lukas Foss remember him with “a plaintive electric guitar line”, while with the fourth anniversary of David Bowie’s death in mind, we hear the first of three works Philip Glass wrote incorporating ideas from Bowie’s own music. And the band Radiohead inspired Steve Reich to compose a work mingling his own ideas with two of their hit songs.
