Thanapol Setabrahmana
Thanapol Setabrahmana is currently the Assistant Music Director of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, the Music Director of the Mahidol Wind Orchestra, and the Chair of Conducting and Ensembles Department at the College of Music Mahidol University. As a conductor, composer, and arranger, Thanapol's works have been drawing younger generations of audiences into the concert hall through cross-disciplinary and creative programming. His symphonic collaborations with artists from several industries, such as film, animation, visual arts, traditional music, and popular music, have produced more than ten million views on online platforms. As an ardent advocate of new music, in addition to writing his compositions, thanapol has also been giving world premieres of the works by Thai composers and Asian premieres of the works by notable composers with the composers in attendance, such as John Corigliano, Bernard Rands, Augusta Read Thomas, Aaron Jay Kernis, among others.
Through several international masterclasses, competitions, and guest conducting invitations, he had the privilege to conduct and lead ensembles in many different countries such as China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Romania, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Thanapol Setabrahmana received a doctoral degree in conducting (with music history cognate) from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, a master's degree in conducting from the New England Conservatory of Music, and a bachelor's degree in music composition from the College of Music, Mahidol University.
