Russell Bonifede
A native of Southern California, Russell Bonifede has held the position of Co-Principal Horn of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra since September 2010. Before moving to Hong Kong he served as Co-Principal Horn of the Hyogo Performing Arts Centre Orchestra in Nishinomiya, Japan from 2009 to 2010. Russell moved from Los Angeles to the east coast of the US in 2002 where he earned a Bachelor's degree from the Manhattan School of Music. He also holds a Master's degree in music from Yale University where he studied under William Purvis of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Russell has attended internationally acclaimed summer music festivals including the National Repertory Orchestra and the Music Academy of the West, Spoleto US. He spent two summers as a horn fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center in Lennox, Massachusetts.
