NCPAO Quintet

I-Jeng Yeh, flute

I-Jeng Yeh, born in Taiwan, has been an active chamber musician and soloist in Asia, the United States, and Canada. She was a winner in several international competitions, including Myrna Brown Artist Compeition, San Diego Gold Artist Flute CompetitionGold, the Twelfth Annual Competition in the Performance of Music from Spain and Latin America. She served in Indiana Camerata Orchestra and Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and was principal flute in IU New Music Ensemble from 2006 to 2008, performing on its tour to the East Coast in 2007. During the time when she was in IU New Music Ensemble, she has premiered works by world famous composers and made several recordings with the Ensemble.

I-Jeng received her Doctoral and master’s degree from Indiana University and her Bachelor’s degree in music education from the National Taipei University of Education. While in Indiana University, she studied with Kathryn Lukas and served as an associate instructor of flute. Since June 2012, I-Jeng has been appointed as principal flute in China National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing, China. During her time in NCPA, she has worked under baton of Christoph Eschenbach, Valery Gergiev, Fabio Luisi, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, etc. In addition, she has collaborated with Philadelphia Orchestra and Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra.

Yang Zhou, oboe

Yang Zhou, born in Harbin, China. He got his bachelor’s degree in China Central Conservatory of Music. Then he continued his study of oboe performance in Ecole normale de musique de Paris, Conservatoire National de Région de Paris and Conservatoire National de Région de Versailles. He was the silver medalist in the international competition of L'UFAM in Paris, France. He was educated by Prof. Dun Zhu, Prof. Jingchun Jin from CCOM, Prof. Jean-Claude Jaboulay from Paris Symphony Orchestra and oboe principal of France National Symphony Orchestra Prof. Pascal Saumon. He has also received the guidance from Mr. Sai Kai, Jaques Tys, Jean-Louis Capezzali, David Walter, and Hansjörg Schellenberger. During his study in France, he was sponsored by Amical scholarship, and Zygmunt Zaleski Stichting foundation of the Netherlands. He is now the oboe principal of China NCPA Orchestra.

Jaume Sanchis, clarinet

Jaume Sanchis, born in Valencia, Spain. He studied at the Music Conservatory of his city and later he moved to Vienna awarded with a scholarship by the "Valencia Conselleria d'Educació i Ciència", where he studied at the Vienna Music University with Professor Horst Hajek. He was awarded at several international music competitions as the "Premio Valentino Bucchi" in Rome and the "Haverhill Sinfonia International Soloists Competition" in the United Kingdom. He holds a chamber music and recitalist activity that has led him to perform in Spain, Austria, Italy, United Kingdom, and China.

He has offered masterclasses in Valencia, Barcelona, Sevilla, Beijing and other cities in Spain. As orchestral clarinetist he has been performing for more than 20 years in different symphony orchestras as a member and thought collaborations in Spain "Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony Orchestra" in Barcelona,  France, Austria, United States and lately in China where formerly he has been Principal Clarinet at the China National Opera House. Mr. Sanchis holds the position of Principal Clarinet at the China National Center for the Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra.

He has recorded for the Spanish National Radio, Catalonia Radio, the "ALEPH" Foundation and "BELLATERRA MUSIC" in Barcelona, the "A.C.A." Foundation for the Contemporary Music and "NAVONA RECORDS" for "NAXOS AMERICA" with music by Francis Poulenc, Carles Guinovart, Camille Saint-Sains and Osias Willenski.

Jingjing Ji, bassoon

Jingjing Ji, bassoon player who has travelled in Germany for years. He started his study in the middle school of CCOM China with Prof. Lansong Li in 1995. He entered Hochschule für Music Saar in 2002, studied bassoon performance with Prof. Marc Engelhardt and Prof. Guilhaume Santana and graduated with master’s degree. In 2004, he became a regular member of Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and joint the Europe tour with several conductors in 2004. He became the first Chinese bassoon player in that orchestra in the nearly two decades. During his studying, he also received a special work contract with Philharmonische Orchester Augsburg. In 2007, Jingjing started working in Rheinischen Philharmonie Koblenz as bassoon associate principal, during which he has cooperated with famous musicians for a large number of chamber works. He has been working in China NCPA Orchestra as bassoon principal from 2010.

Xiaoxin Liu, horn

Xiaoxin Liu started his studying of french horn when he was very young with Prof. Chengxin Zhang. He got the second price of the 8th Brass Solo Chamber Music Competition in 2010 and got the first price of the 10th Chamber Ensemble Competition of CCOM. He received his undergraduate degree with distinction and joint Hochschule Für Musik Freiburg in 2013. He got master’s degree and highest performer's diploma under the tuition of Prof. Bruno Schneider. He was an intern in Opernhause Zuerich during his studying in Germany and was the guest horn player of Verbier Festival during 2015 to 2017. Xiaoxin has also won the second price of the 4th Finland International Horn Solo Competition in 2016. He is now the horn principal of China NCPA Orchestra.
