Soprano Alison Lau studies with Madam Ella Kiang, a highly respected figure in Hong Kong’s cultural and artistic circle. Alison is winner of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Concerto Competition 2011-2012, and she has appeared as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Valencienne in The Merry Widow and Amore in L’incoronazione di Poppea. She has performed as soloist in Mozart’s Missa Brevis in F and Bob Chilcott’s Jubilate with choral group Singchronizers. She has also performed excerpts from Rigoletto (as Gilda), Der Rosenkavalier (as Sophie) and La Boheme (as Musetta) at the HKAPA Opera Scenes Concert.
Alison is an alumna of St Paul's Co-educational College and the Hong Kong Children's Choir. She is currently pursuing an honours degree in music at the HKAPA and has been awarded a scholarship. In 2012, she was selected as one of the six “Young Music Makers” by RTHK.
