Join one of the world’s great violinists, Frank Peter Zimmermann, for a night of awe-inspiring music. Sibelius’s violin concerto is a dreamlike work which makes supreme demands on its soloist. Against its sharp contrasts of mood, Jaap van Zweden presents the triumphant mood of Prokofiev’s fifth symphony – a work composed on the eve of allied victory in World War II.
