PROKOFIEVRomeo and Juliet Suites (selections) (~43')
Re-live the most heart-breaking story ever told, with music for the “two star-cross’d lovers” Romeo and Juliet. Their love inspired Tchaikovsky to write his achingly beautiful overture. Prokofiev composed a whole ballet to tell the tale. This concert celebrates both works. And we welcome an emerging superstar, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, famed for her passionate music-making.
