Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Astor Piazzolla’s birth with Argentinean conductor Mariano Chiacchiarini and the HK Phil, joined by two tango dancers! Argentinian composer Piazzolla revolutionised the tango when he incorporated elements of jazz and classical music into the traditional dance. Experience the rhythm and flair of some of Piazzolla’s greatest works, alongside those that he inspired. The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, featuring Concertmaster Jing Wang, pays tribute to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, reinterpreted through the perspective of Piazzolla’s native Argentina.
This concert runs 75 minutes approximately, without an intermission.
