HK Phil Resident Conductor Lio Kuokman will lead the orchestra in two Russian masterworks. Venture into Arabian fantasies with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, which depicts in colourful music the exotic tales of A Thousand and One Nights. Hopefully, the music will keep you as curious and eager for more as Scheherazade’s stories did the Sultan. Prokofiev’s lively and jovial "Classical" symphony opens the concert and is followed by Förster’s rare Horn Concerto, performed by HK Phil Principal Horn Lin Jiang.
The concert runs approximately 1.5 hours with an intermission.
