STRAVINSKYSymphonies of Wind Instruments (1947)
STRAVINSKYSymphony of Psalms
BEETHOVENSymphony no. 2 *

The HK Phil is pleased to present the Asia premiere of Brad Lubman’s Reflections, a piece that takes listeners on a surreal journey through a dreamlike landscape. The American conductor and composer Brad Lubman will conduct work himself, alongside Beethoven’s brilliant Symphony no. 2. The concert also features two masterful works by Igor Stravinsky: Symphony of Psalms, featuring the Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus, and Symphonies of Wind Instruments, both showcasing the innovative spirit of one of the 20th century’s greatest composers.

The concert runs approximately 90 minutes with an intermission.

Change of Artist(s) & Programme

The concert “Classics for the Modern Era: Stravinsky & Wang Lin” at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 29 & 30 Nov 2024 has been retitled to “Classics for the Modern Era: Stravinsky & Brad Lubman”.

Due to circumstances beyond the composer’s control, the premiere of Wang Lin’s Genes and Astronomy Series no. 16: Giorgio Agamben’s Pinocchio will be postponed to a future season. Wang Lin will not perform in this concert and the programme has therefore been adjusted and listed as above*. The other details remain unchanged.

Ticket-holders may continue to use their tickets for admission according to the date printed on the tickets for the updated programme.

For ticketing assistance, please contact the HK Phil Ticketing Office at least TEN days before the concert date(s) (i.e. on or before 15 NOV 2024) at ticketing@hkphil.org.
