Elisabeth Teige

As a touching Elsa or as Senta, the young Norwegian soprano has taken the audience by storm with brilliant high notes, warm middle register, necessary depth and gripping interpretation. Since her debut as Leonore in ‘Fidelio’ at Den Norske Opera & Ballett, she has been a much sought-after guest for this role and was invited to the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Semperoper Dresden in 2017/18. She made her debut as Cio-Cio-San in 2017 at the summer festival Opera på Skäret in Kopparberg in Sweden and was, in February 2018, the acclaimed Senta in the new production at Bergen National Opera. A special highlight of the 2018/19 season was her first Brünnhilde in Loriot’s ‘Der Ring an einem Abend’. Further debuts like Irene (‘Rienzi’) and Tosca followed in 2018/19 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as well as at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. In the 2019/20 season, she made her debut as Turandot at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and appeared as Cio-Cio-San in Oslo and as Fidelio-Leonore in Prague, Hamburg and Dresden. In March 2020, she made her debut as Siegfried-Brünnhilde in concert with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. Her debut on the “Grüne Hügel” in Bayreuth was planned the new production of the tetralogy at the Bayreuth Festival 2020 as Gutrune – cancelled because of the Corona vius. In autumn 2020, she returns to the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Sieglinde in the new production of ‘Walküre’ and as Turandot.
