"Ring from Hong Kong to take on the world"Gramophone
"...evidence of van Zweden's success in dramatically raising standards at Hong Kong"The Times

With excellent reviews in both the local and international press, HK Phil’s Ring Cycle reaches its closing installment with Götterdämmerung. The setting is once again by the River Rhine, where our journey began and where Brünnhilde and our hero Siegfried took the oath with the Ring. Here, Gods, humans and dwarfs are all fighting for this very Ring. Will Siegfried and Brünnhilde survive? Where will the Ring end up? Maestro Jaap van Zweden and his cast of top Wagnerian singers along with a gargantuan orchestra reveal the stupendous finish to this amazing story. You MUST be there!

The live recordings of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra Wagner’s Ring Cycle Parts one Das Rheingold, two Die Walküre and three Siegfried are now available on CD/Blu-Ray in local record stores and at our Götterdämmerung opera-in-concerts.

Concert runs approximately 6 hours with two 30 minutes-long intervals.
Performance in German, with Chinese and English surtitles.

Cast updates notice for Götterdämmerung: American Bass Eric Halfvarson will replace Mikhail Petrenko to play the role of Hagen in the advertised performances of Götterdämmerung. The programme and other vocalists remain unchanged.
