林丰於2013年為香港管弦樂團何鴻毅家族基金駐團作曲家。2005年，英國廣播公司愛樂團在詹姆斯．麥克米蘭指揮下演奏其管弦作品《明》的世界首演，由是聲名鵲起，其後作品由紐西蘭交響樂團、香港小交響樂團、深圳交響樂團及曼哈頓音樂學院樂團演出。林丰是英國廣播公司有史以來委約作曲的首位香港作曲家，以及最年輕的華人作曲家。2007年，他獲英國廣播公司音樂會管弦樂團委約創作《解》，作品靈感來自維多利亞與阿爾伯特博物館一個以鎖為主題的展覽，由查里斯哈索活特指揮英國廣播公司音樂會管弦樂團首演，亞洲首演則於2011年由蘇柏軒指揮香港管弦樂團演出。不久林丰便獲第二個委約，創作小品《BE》(2008)，在倫敦南岸中心演出。2009年，作品《湧》由羅斯指揮倫敦交響樂團演出，作品次年在亞洲音樂節，由作曲家親自指揮東京愛樂團再演。2010年，香港管弦樂團委約創作《融》，在上海世博會中由迪華特指揮樂團作世界首演。2012年林丰獲英國廣播公司第三度委約創作受達爾文影響的《無盡藏》，作品於2012年7月在「夏日逍遙音樂會」系列中作世界首演，由奧里姆指揮英國廣播公司愛樂團在皇家阿爾伯特堂演出。2014年香港管弦樂團將在梵志登的指揮下演奏他第二首香港管弦樂團委約創作的作品。
林丰1979年出生於香港，在修咸頓及蘇塞克斯大學研習作曲，先後追隨畢特勒、芬尼斯、斯夫．哥頓學習；2012年取得博士學位，同年獲香港藝術發展局頒發藝術新秀獎。
