林丰於2013年为香港管弦乐团何鸿毅家族基金驻团作曲家。2005年，英国广播公司爱乐团在詹姆斯．麦克米兰指挥下演奏其管弦作品《明》的世界首演，由是声名鹊起，其后作品由纽西兰交响乐团、香港小交响乐团、深圳交响乐团及曼哈顿音乐学院乐团演出。林丰是英国广播公司有史以来委约作曲的首位香港作曲家，以及最年轻的华人作曲家。2007年，他获英国广播公司音乐会管弦乐团委约创作《解》，作品灵感来自维多利亚与阿尔伯特博物馆一个以锁为主题的展览，由查里斯哈索活特指挥英国广播公司音乐会管弦乐团首演，亚洲首演则於2011年由苏柏轩指挥香港管弦乐团演出。不久林丰便获第二个委约，创作小品《BE》(2008)，在伦敦南岸中心演出。2009年，作品《涌》由罗斯指挥伦敦交响乐团演出，作品次年在亚洲音乐节，由作曲家亲自指挥东京爱乐团再演。2010年，香港管弦乐团委约创作《融》，在上海世博会中由迪华特指挥乐团作世界首演。2012年林丰获英国广播公司第三度委约创作受达尔文影响的《无尽藏》，作品於2012年7月在「夏日逍遥音乐会」系列中作世界首演，由奥里姆指挥英国广播公司爱乐团在皇家阿尔伯特堂演出。2014年香港管弦乐团将在梵志登的指挥下演奏他第二首香港管弦乐团委约创作的作品。
林丰1979年出生於香港，在修咸顿及苏塞克斯大学研习作曲，先后追随毕特勒、芬尼斯、斯夫．哥顿学习；2012年取得博士学位，同年获香港艺术发展局颁发艺术新秀奖。
